The new fulfillment center will total over one million square feet, creating over 600 full-time jobs
Amazon confirmed a lease agreement and plans for a new fulfillment center in Los Lunas, NM, creating over 600 full-time jobs with comprehensive benefits. Amazon employees will pick, pack, and ship items to customers from this one million square foot facility that is scheduled to launch in 2023.
“We’re excited to open our customer fulfillment center in Los Lunas and to bring over 600 full-time jobs to the city,” said Amazon Manager of Economic Development Manager Sam Bailey. “Los Lunas has a great workforce and we are excited to add to the amazing team currently helping us set a higher standard of operational excellence and delivering outstanding customer experience every day.”
This includes an average starting wage for front-line employees of more than $15 per hour in the U.S. and comprehensive benefits for full-time employees worth an additional $3.50 per hour. These benefits include health, vision, and dental insurance; a 401(k) with 50% company match; up to 20 weeks paid parental leave; and Amazon’s Career Choice program, through which the company fully funds the cost of an employee’s college tuition, including classes, books, and fees.

Their investment into the community during the post-pandemic climate will be transformative, generating over 600 full-time jobs and a total economic impact of over $200 million. Amazon has invested more than $200 million in the state of New Mexico, creating 3,500 full- and part-time jobs, as well as 1,000 indirect jobs. New Mexico boasts over 8,700 small and medium business sellers and independent authors in New Mexico growing their businesses with Amazon.
