New Mexico Senators Congratulate The Village Of Los Lunas For Infrastructure Project!

U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich congratulated Village officials on investing in infrastructure at a special event held Friday, August 17, 2018, to formally announce the $1.3 million Department of Commerce grant to install a 21,000-foot potable water pipeline along NM HWY 6 to the Central New Mexico Rail Park on the western edge of the Village. Heinrich added that project foundations are created by building infrastructure.

In a video, U.S. Senator Tom Udall said Central New Mexico is the key to a better economic picture in New Mexico. Economic Development Administration Regional Director Jorge Ayala pointed out that “amazing things” are happening in the Village and congratulated the Village and Valencia County on successful economic development. Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway representative Peter Hjertstedt said that the rail park is strategically located on the railroad’s Southern Transcon, the BNSF mainline between Southern California and Chicago, Illinois.

Other speakers were Bernalillo County Manager Julie Morgas Baca and Dewey V. Cave, executive director of the Mid-Region Council of Governments. Bernalillo County is partnering with Los Lunas on the Central New Mexico Rail Park project.
