Thirty-three employees received gifts of appreciation for their twenty years of service during the 20th-anniversary celebration of the Walmart Distribution Center in Los Lunas. Many of those employees have worked at the distribution center since it opened.
In a special ceremony held at the distribution center, John Rencher, center manager, said he is proud of all the associates who make the distribution center run smoothly and that he is looking forward to the next twenty years.
Longtime employees honored at the Walmart Distribution Center ceremony were:
James Bowen, John Chavez, James Blanton, David Blakesley, Susanne Peralta, Shannon Jaramillo, Maxiline Castillo, Manuel Lucero, Patricia Martinez, Daniel Vigil, Geri Mendoza, Antonia Tafoya, Andrew Vigil, Ruben Cordero, and Randy Montoya.
Also Bill Barton, Thomas Chavez, Teresa Harris, Randall Rodebush, Johnny Sandoval, Gene Vasquez, Juan Reyes, Brad Richardson, Tim Aragon, James Garcia, Wesley Taylor, Vicki Apodaca, Randy Griego, Melvin Alires, Tammy Kight, Michael Waites, Mark Jordison, and Kevin Epley.
Also during the event, distribution center human resources director, Marvin Glass, presented a $5,000 donation to Roadrunner Food Bank. Glass said that Walmart enjoys partnering with organizations that do good work. In 2018, Walmart donated 7.7 million pounds of food in New Mexico.
The Walmart Distribution Center is located at 670 Los Morros Road NW, phone 505 866-8600. The center operates twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, 364 days a year (the center is closed Christmas Day).
