Donations to local organizations and recognition of associates who have worked at the Los Lunas Walmart since its 2003 opening were among the features of the Walmart Remodel Grand Opening.
Recipients of donations were El Ranchito de Los Ninos, Los Lunas Fire Department, Los Lunas Police Department, and Los Lunas High School.
Associates who have worked in the store since it first opened in 2003 were honored, as were the current department heads.
Teresa South was recognized as the associate with the most years of service. South, the store management team, and the original associates all helped cut the ribbon for the grand opening.
The Los Lunas High School JROTC opened the program with the presentation of the colors.
Village of Los Lunas Economic Development Manager Ralph Mims commended store manager Caren Nicholson and the store associates for serving Walmart customers.
One of the newest additions to the store is the online order pick up tower, a sixteen-foot-tall orange tower where online orders can be picked up.
